Kerry’s real Band of Brothers
The Democratic Convention begins tomorrow and much has been made of
the 'introducing of John Kerry to America' with hype focused on
Kerry's Vietnam service as a swift boat captain.
But the real story of Kerry's Vietnam service has not been told by the
Kerry Campaign. It’s been falsely told through a photograph of Kerry
with 19 of members of his Navy swift boat crew. Calling it Kerry's
'Band of Brothers,' the Kerry Campaign failed to mention that only
two of the 19 individuals shown in the picture actually support
Kerry's campaign for the presidency. And 11 of those 19 vets pictured
are suing Kerry for falsely using their image. They, and numerous
other veterans -- including those in command over Kerry during his
abbreviated Vietnam tour -- have also written and signed a letter
stating Kerry is "unfit to serve as Commander-in-Chief."
In light of this, why does Kerry keep trumpeting his Vietnam
credentials? Because the mainstream media is not reporting the truth
about John Kerry's Vietnam record. The mainstream media is not
reporting what the thousands of Vietnam veterans are really saying
about John Kerry.
·
Kerry lied in 1971
to Congress about war atrocities committed by his brethren.
·
Kerry is
recognized in the North Vietnamese War Museum as one of their heroes
for helping them defeat the USA and win the war for the Communists.
·
Kerry has voted against more than a dozen of the key
weapons that are critical to our nation’s defense.
·
The Kerry POW/MIA cover-up.
·
Kerry voted to go to war and then voted against the $87
billion to fund it. (Oh that’s right, he "first voted for it before he
voted against it.")
[NOTE: see

Kerry's true "Band of Brothers" are not his fellow Vietnam veterans.
They are the those who would weaken America... the
internationalists... the terrorists who would blame us for
'intervening.' The true friends of Kerry are all of those who want us
to feel guilty for the fact that America is an exceptional nation,
filled with individuals whose freedoms enable us to rise constantly
higher.
The “shorts” of Berger
editorial by Roger Wm. Hughes
We have learned from Democrats that Clinton’s former security advisor
Sandy Berger made a mistake when he stuffed secret documents into his
shorts and socks and illegally took the top-secret documents out of
the National Security Archives.
We have also learned from the 9-11 Commission that Berger was
presented with plans to take action against the threat of al Qaeda
four separate times — Spring 1998, June 1999, December 1999, and
August 2000. Each time, Berger was an obstacle to action. We have to
wonder: if he would have taken pre-emptive action, maybe the 2,973
killed in the September 11, 2001 would be alive today.
Some have argued that the opinion of those like the N.Y. Sun’s
editorial of July 23, is out of line:
It really doesn’t matter now what was in the documents from the
National Archives that Mr. Berger says he inadvertently misplaced. The
evidence in the commission’s report yesterday is more than enough to
embarrass him thoroughly. He is a hardworking, warm man with a
wonderful family, but his background as a trade lawyer and his dovish,
legalistic and political instincts made him, in retrospect, the
tragically wrong man to be making national security decisions for
America in wartime. That Senator Kerry had Mr. Berger as a campaign
foreign policy adviser even before the archives scandal is enough to
raise doubts about the senator’s judgment.
The reason that this logic is so accurate and important is because
both parties have a farm team that goes way back. If you look at the
George W. administration, it looks eerily like the George H.
administration.
The reason is that those who work in the bowels or the hierarchies of
government jobs hop their way up. The more pleasant way to put it is
that they work their way up. The truth of the matter is, each
administration requires thousands of people to fill very, very
important positions. We do not want these positions to just go to
anyone.
This is true whether the question is the Department of Agriculture or
National Security.
Sandy Berger was a bureaucrat-in-training dating back to his efforts
on behalf of George McGovern’s 1972 campaign for President. Sen. John
Kerry and Sandy Berger are kindred spirits. Berger was working for
peace-nik McGovern while Kerry was protesting with Jane Fonda against
the war in Vietnam with his organization, Veterans Against the War --
an organization that plotted to kill U.S. Senators while Kerry was a
member.
Berger had many jobs in the Democrat Party between working for George
McGovern’s presidential campaign and working for President Clinton’s
administration. But the job that troubles us the most was his most
recent one – advising presidential candidate John Kerry. Clearly, it
shows what a ‘Kerry Presidency’ would bring us.
The connection in politics is a necessity. There is the often-stated
opinion: It is who you know. The more accurate statement is: It is not
who you know, or what you know. It is what you do with who you
know, and what you know.
Berger did a lot with who he knew and what he knew over the years.
What he did was obviously embarrassing not only to himself, but to the
Democrat Party line as well -- a line that has consistently been that
of appeasement and guilt for America being an exceptional nation where
individual liberty and responsibility give rise to unlimited
opportunity.
This is why it is fair to blame Kerry, even if he knew nothing of
Berger’s high crimes against this nation. It is fair because we know
that they are both of the party of appeasement. They are of the party
that blames America. They are the of party that believes in
socializing the American economy -- an experiment that has proven to
be a road to disaster.
The question is whether America will choose the road that is closer to
our American roots, or the French road of appeasement with Kerry.
Democrat Convention outreach
The Democrat National Committee is trying to take full advantage of
the Howard Dean Internet phenomenon. They have e-mailed Democrats
around the country the following to make them involved in the upcoming
Democrat convention:
On Monday, the Democratic Party is kicking off an incredible
Convention to introduce John Kerry, John Edwards, and their vision for
the next four years to the American people. Our Convention marks the
beginning of the campaign for all our Democratic candidates to take
back America from George W. Bush and his special-interest, right-wing
extremist cronies.
When the American people see John Kerry's plan for a stronger America
and compare it to four years of failures from George W. Bush, they
will never look back.
You're our most dedicated online activists, and we wish that all of
you could be in Boston with us. But you can get a front-row seat for
the proceedings right at your desktop just by going to
Democrats.org. Here are just a few ways we're bringing the
Convention directly to you:
Convention Diary. Visit the DNC weblog for an inside look at the
Convention. We'll feature photos, interviews, guest posts, and the
stories that you won't be able to find anywhere else.
Interactive Convention Chats. We've got some amazing Democrats
lined up for interactive chats each day at the convention. Al Franken,
Rob Reiner, Kate Michelman, and DNC Chair Terry McAuliffe will all be

We couldn't be more excited about introducing this incredible ticket
to the American people. When John Kerry accepts the nomination on
Thursday night, we will have reached the beginning of the end of the
road for the Bush White House and the launch of a new vision and new
direction for a stronger, better America.
We hope you'll be there with us.
