Kerry’s deception
"I will be a commander in chief who will never mislead us into
war," Sen. John Kerry said. "I will have a vice president who will not
conduct secret meetings with polluters to rewrite our environmental
laws. I will have a secretary of defense who will listen to the advice
of our military leaders. And I will appoint an attorney general who
upholds the Constitution of the United States."
Sen. John Kerry became the nominee of the Democrat Party last night
and offered what some are saying is challenge of values and security
to the GOP. Some political analysts said that a Republican could have
given Kerry’s acceptance speech.
However, Kerry seems to have left out some very damning information
about his record and not given credit to the Bush administration for
their accomplishments. The
official Bush site has a very damning and detailed
response to Kerry’s speech. Some of the most damning is in reference
to Kerry’s record against terrorism:
As president, I will ask hard
questions and demand hard evidence. I will immediately reform the
intelligence system - so policy is guided by facts, and facts are
never distorted by politics. And as president, I will bring back this
nation's time-honored tradition: the United States of America never
goes to war because we want to, we only go to war because we have to.
Kerry Was On Senate Select
Intelligence Committee For Eight Years (1993-2000).
-
While On Committee, Kerry Missed
38 Of 49 Intelligence Committee Hearings.
During John Kerry's eight years of
service on the Senate's Select Committee on Intelligence, there were
49 open, public hearings. Of these 49, John Kerry attended just 11
(22.4%). Among the most notable of those he missed is the June 8,
2000, hearing on the report of the National Commission on Terrorism,
which warned about the terrorist threat we now face and recommended
numerous steps to address that threat (few of which were adopted
prior to 9/11/01).
-
While On Committee, Kerry
Proposed Over $7.5 Billion In Across The Board Cuts To Intelligence
Budget, All Of Which Were Rejected By Democrats And Republicans
Alike. (S. 1826,
Introduced 2/3/1994; S. Amdt. 1452, Introduced 2/9/94; S. 1290,
Introduced 9/29/95)
-
A Look At Kerry's Legislative
Record During That Same Time Period Finds No Legislation That Kerry
Proposed (Wrote And Sponsored) To Increase Funding For Human
Intelligence Or Reform Intelligence Community To Focus Resources On
Human Intelligence Gathering.
-
Kerry Touted Being "Way Ahead"
Of President Clinton, His Senate Colleagues And Much Of Country In
His Support For Regime Change, By Ground Troops If Necessary.
ABC's GEORGE WILL: "Senator Kerry, given the fact that we say, on
the one hand, he's like Hitler - the most evil man since Hitler, the
secretary of state said this week - yet he's not worth fighting for
on the ground, fighting against on the ground, is it perhaps time
for the United States to quit obsessing about him, say this is a
problem we can't solve, and think about other things?" SEN. JOHN
KERRY: "Well, first of all, George, I don't believe it's not worth
fighting for on the ground. And I think that's your last position,
and there are many things you can do. And I'm quite confident you
can make his life sufficiently miserable and deprive him of the
ability to survive without necessarily having to reach that level.
But I'm prepared to go to the level. And the reason is very simple
[I] believe he is the kind of threat that has been described. I
believe that in the post- Cold War period this issue of
proliferation, particularly in the hands of Saddam Hussein, is
critical. It has implications for a Qaddafi, for a Sudan, for other
countries in the world in the future." WILL: "Senator Kerry, you're
way ahead of the commander in chief in this regard." KERRY: "I am
way ahead of the commander in chief, and I'm probably way ahead of
my colleagues and certainly of much of the country. But I believe
this. I believe that he has used these weapons before. He has
invaded another country. He views himself as a modern-day
Nebuchadnezzar. He wants to continue to play the uniting critical
role in that part of the world. And I think we have to stand up to
that." (ABC's "This Week," 2/22/98)
Now, Kerry suggest that he will be a
strong defender of America’s military might after voting against most
all of the weapon systems that are winning the war against terrorism.
A disturbing trend in the
Kerry-Edwards manifesto is the continued statement of bringing our
"traditional allies" to the table in the war on terrorism. This of
course means France, Germany and Russia. The last time Russia was a
traditional ally was when we were fighting Hitler.
The troublesome aspect of sublimating
America’s interest to these faux allies is the fact that they were a
part of the U.N. Oil for Food Program that gave billions in kick backs
to Saddam Hussein. Kick backs that enabled the torture and killing of
thousands of Iraqi citizens.
After all, we should not be surprised
France is the country that gave aid and comfort to the Ayatollah
Kohmeni until he overthrew the Sha of Iran. The question is where is
Iran getting their parts and technology to build their nuclear weapons
capabilities, Russia.
The long standing economic benefit
from their association with Saddam Hussein is well established.
However, the even more egregious aspect of this triad is the fact that
they have stated publicly and privately in writing that they have a
goal of weakening America’s power in the world.
What America needs to do is build
greater alliances with New European countries who appreciate economic
and individual freedoms rather than the socialist driven countries of
Old Europe. These New European countries will grow into economic
dynamos. They will eventually surpass the failed socialistic economies
of Old Europe.
Budget
The more disturbing deception by
Kerry is his math of how he is going to pay for all the new programs
that he is proposing. Kerry would have us believe that he can soak the
rich and pay for everything he is proposing: expand the military,
check every cargo coming into the U.S., free pre-school, free college
education, hundreds of billions for K through 12 education, free
health care insurance, continue the unsound fiscal policies of social
security, greater environmental regulations - in short major socialism
of the American economy.
The truth is that if we confiscated
100 percent of the top ten percent of American’s wealth we could only
run this country for a few months. Where is the money going to come
from to cover the trillions of dollars of new expenditures that Kerry
is proposing? After all, Kerry said that he is going to make us pay as
we go during this time of war.
Let us look at Kerry’s record when it
comes to tax increases and tax cuts:
-
Kerry Voted 98 Times For Tax
Increases Totaling More Than $2.3 Trillion.
-
Kerry Voted At Least 126 Times
Against Tax Cuts Totaling More Than $5.3 Trillion.
-
Kerry Has Voted 73 Times To
Reduce The Size Of A Tax Cut.
-
Kerry Voted 67 Times For Smaller
Tax Cuts (Democrat Alternatives).
-
Kerry Voted 11 Times Against
Repealing Tax Hikes.
It was quite a speech. Too bad, it wasn’t true.
Kerry spending burying Bush
The Democrat National Committee plans to spend $100 million against
Bush. The party and independent liberal groups could raise as much as
$225 million for unseating Bush in November. The Kerry campaign may
spend only the $75 million it has agreed to accept from the federal
government to run its general election campaign.
"We can now make very good strategic choices because we have the money
to do it," DNC Chairman Terence R. McAuliffe said. "We have the
largest staff we have ever put in the field in the history of the
party." In every battleground state, McAuliffe said, "you have the
whole matrix of the DNC folks, the coordinated campaign director, the
political director, the communications director. Every box has been
filled."
Kerry Kit
MoveOn.org is offering a Kerry Kit to help their members elect
Kerry-Edwards:
Dear MoveOn member,
Many of us have learned about John Kerry's positions and his life
story in sound bites, often warped and distorted by a viciously
effective Republican attack machine. But we've looked extensively at
John Kerry's record, and talked to people who've worked with him, and
we've come away convinced that John Kerry is a strong, courageous and
progressive leader -- someone we can be proud of as the nominee for
President.
And that's why there's something we want you to see.
This fall, award-winning filmmaker George Butler will release Going
Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry, a biographical film featuring
never-before-seen footage of John Kerry as a young man. For us,
watching this footage transformed our understanding of who John Kerry
is and what he's about. You will never forget Kerry's riveting and
inspiring testimony to the Senate as the 27-year-old leader of Vietnam
Veterans Against the War, or his crewmates' descriptions of his
selfless acts under fire.
We've put together a "Kerry Kit," with a DVD featuring a 15-minute
pre-release excerpt of this film, as well as Kerry's recent speech to
Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition, all the MoveOn PAC ads, and lots of
other materials. And to get it out there, we're giving away the first
100,000 Kerry Kits totally free - one per member.
They're going to go fast. You can check out a video clip of the film
and then order yours now for free at:
http://www.kerrykit.com/order.html?id=3174-3383857-GUNavjNNd6CT3TwDqHqPKQ
If you're sure that Bush needs to go, but still have questions about
John Kerry, we invite you to check this out and make up your own mind.
And if you believe John Kerry is the right man for the job, but are
looking for tools to convince others, this kit will be invaluable.
You can send a Kerry Kit to your friends and family at cost - we want
to make sure as many people as possible get the real skinny on John
Kerry's record of leadership.
In a recent speech, John Edwards said:
"If you have any question about what John Kerry's made of, about his
leadership ability, about his strength and his courage, just spend
three minutes, three minutes with the men who served with him 30 years
ago who still stand by his side. They saw up close when their lives
were at risk that this man is a leader, that he has courage,
determination, and he would never leave any American behind."
The film's footage offers these three minutes and then some. Kerry
crewmates Del Sandusky and James Rassman vividly describe Kerry's
courage under fire in Vietnam. Later, we see Kerry's extraordinary and
powerful Senate testimony as the 27-year-old leader of Vietnam
Veterans Against the War. And the materials that come along with the
kit demonstrate that these same qualities, commitment and
determination to speak truth to power have characterized John Kerry's
actions throughout his long career of public service.
The Kerry Kit also features:
·
Jesse Jackson's rousing introduction of Kerry, and
Kerry's strong speech to the Rainbow Coalition earlier this year.
·
Fact sheets that contrast Kerry's record with President
Bush's, and show how he's been rated by progressive groups. Articles
that go into more depth on Kerry's record, including his leadership
exposing the Iran-Contra scandal and his extraordinary record of
environmental protection.
·
Kerry-Edwards stickers.
·
And, as a special bonus, all of MoveOn PAC's TV
advertisements to date.
Since the kits cost a fair amount to produce, we're only able to offer
the first 100,000 for free. You can get yours now at:

Donaldson’s truth
Operation Rescue West President Troy Newman has been in Boston all
week with his "Truth Truck" promoting the reality of abortion to the
Democratic delegates and supporters with graphic images of actual
aborted babies plastered across the side of the billboard-sized
panels.
On Monday, Newman said he saw ABC News reporter Sam Donaldson crossing
the street at a traffic light near his "Truth Truck" on his way to a
rally featuring former Democratic presidential candidate and U.S. Rep.
Dick Gephardt (D-MO).
Recognizing an opportunity to speak to Donaldson, Newman grabbed his
bullhorn and yelled to the veteran reporter while pointing at the
truck, "Look at the babies."
"It's time to tell the truth about abortion," Newman exclaimed. "Tell
the truth that abortion kills babies."
Upon hearing the declaration from Newman, Donaldson turned around with
his right arm in the air and declared, "Never!"
Donaldson then walked away.
Prozac’s the answer
A campaign worker for President Bush said on Thursday American workers
unhappy with low-quality jobs should find new ones -- or pop a Prozac
to make themselves feel better.
"Why don't they get new jobs if they're unhappy -- or go on Prozac?"
said Susan Sheybani, an assistant to Bush campaign spokesman Terry
Holt.
The comment was apparently directed to a colleague who was
transferring a phone call from a reporter asking about job quality,
and who overheard the remark.
When told the Prozac comment had been overheard, Sheybani said: "Oh, I
was just kidding."
While recent employment growth has buoyed Bush's economic record,
Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry has argued the new jobs
are not as good as those lost due to outsourcing in recent years.
Nearly 1.1 million jobs have been lost since Bush took office in
January 2001.
Kerry’s vet photo fraud, II
The Kerry campaign ran a much-hyped “Band of Brothers” photo of Kerry
with 19 other fellow Vietnam Swift Boat commanders, which implied all
19 support Kerry’s bid for the presidency. All 19 did not support
Kerry – only two did.
Today, Iowa Presidential Watch has received information from Swift
Boat Veterans for the Truth (www.swiftvets.com)
that states: “We have new information that Ralph Dobson in fact
considers Kerry unfit.”
So, now Kerry is down to just one of the 19 Swift Boat
commanders supporting him.
We have updated the photo-graphic to show the truth about Kerry’s
amazing photo fraud.

Vietnam Vets for the Truth:
Fundraising Dinner
www.IowaPresidentialWatch.com has received the following from the Vietnam
Veterans for the Truth group:
Vietnam Vets for the Truth, LLC (VVT) is hosting a fundraising dinner
at the Aquaturf Club in Plantsville, Connecticut, on August 17th.
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit VVT’s “Kerry Lied… While Good
Men Died” rally – an event being held on September 12th in
Washington DC.
VVT represents the majority of Vietnam veterans who stand in
opposition to John Kerry’s bid for the White House and who deem him
unfit to be America’s Commander-in-Chief. Earlier in the year, the
group broke the “Saigon Museum Photo” story that received widespread
media coverage because of its visual portrayal of the esteem in which
John Kerry is held by the Vietnamese communists.
Attendance at the dinner is not limited to Vietnam veterans;
warmly invited are those Americans who share VVT’s views on the
libelous statements Kerry made about American servicemen in 1971.
Addressing that issue will be noted Miami attorney and former Florida
State Senator Dexter Lehtinen, a Vietnam veteran and the US Attorney
who convicted Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega. A noted Midwestern
talk radio show host will be broadcasting live from the event and will
solicit comments from guests. Jim Vicevich, of WTIC News Talk 1080
(Hartford), will be Master of Ceremonies.
For your listening and viewing pleasure, the Manhattan USO troupe will
perform its extraordinary revue of patriotic and period music. We’re
extremely fortunate to have been able to get these outstanding
performers, who will sing Andrews Sisters numbers and other World War
II favorites.
It is rumored that other distinguished guests will be added to the
program. This event is going to be one of the most enjoyable
political events ever; don’t miss it! And the food at the Aquaturf
Club is truly extraordinary…
Since accommodations are extremely limited, completed reservation
forms must be received no later than August 10, 2004. To purchase
tickets and reserve seating, please follow the instructions posted on
our website
