Rove reactions
MoveOn.org is taking aim at destroying Karl Rove. In a recent e-mail
they write:
Valerie Plame was an operative working on stopping the proliferation
of weapons of mass destruction—the most important beat at the CIA and
one of the most important jobs in the country. Rove revealed her
identity and destroyed her network of connections to settle a
political score. He weakened America's national security. For that
alone, he deserves to be fired.
While President Bush ignored a question concerning Rove, his press
secretary said that Rove had the support of the President.
"The fact that he [Rove] didn't give her name, but identified the
ambassador's wife ... doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out
who that is," Sen. Joe Biden said on CNN's "Inside Politics." "If that
occurred, at a minimum, that was incredibly bad judgment, warranting
him being asked to leave."
The Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman said Rove "was
discouraging a reporter from writing a false story based on a false
premise."
E.U. anti-American
The European Union continues to demonstrate anti-American business
actions with an anti-competition unit investigation of Intel.
Commission spokesman Jonathan Todd said: "Commission officials
accompanied by officials from national competition authorities are
conducting since this morning onsite inspections at several premises
of Intel corp in Europe as well as at a number of IT firms,
manufacturing or selling computers."
Todd said, "These inspections are carried out within the framework of
an ongoing competition investigation."
NAACP vs. Republicans
Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman will be speaking at
the NAACP national convention in Milwaukee, Thursday. However, some
are telling him not to go, according to CNS News:
It's a waste of time because the NAACP for the last 40 to 50 years has
proven to be part of the elite, white, racist Democratic Party," said
Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, president of the Brotherhood Organization for
a New Destiny (BOND).
