Petition to the Congress of the United States

 We the Undersigned petition our government in the hopes of redressing certain quarters of our population who seek to weaken our nation and the security of its citizens.

Because, There are those who say that our actions of invading Iraq were imprudent and that we have been mislead because we have not found weapons of mass destruction. There are even Americans who are calling for the impeachment of President George W. Bush and others in his administration.

We Resolve That: The President was right to recognize that Saddam Hussein was a threat to the security of all freedom loving people in the world and we call on Congress to support President George W. Bush in the War on Terrorism, recognizing:

That, Saddam Hussein has committed many crimes against humanity including; trying to kill the President of the United States of America, use of biological and chemical weapons against his own people, rape, torture and genocide, unprovoked invasion of his neighbors, defiance of several United Nations resolutions, paying money to families of terrorists who were suicide bombers, and many more crimes too many to mention;

That, Hussein was violating U.N. resolutions and illegally selling oil through Syria which provided him with access to enormous funds to pursue his acquisition of weapons of mass destruction;

That, Hussein has in the past dedicated himself to the destruction of the United States and continued to avow the goal of U.S. destruction;

That, Hussein continued to have as his goal the rule of his region of Islam and the acquisition of the region’s oil under his control;

That, by advancing freedom in the greater Middle East, we help end a cycle of dictatorship and radicalism that holds millions of people in a state of misery and brings danger to our nation and the free world;

That, we are told Islam is somehow inconsistent with a democratic culture, yet more than half of the world's Muslims are today contributing citizens in democratic societies;

That, President George W. Bush was right in the invasion of Iraq and his actions have increased the security of this nation and removed a threat to peace;

That, Democrats and liberals who have criticized President Bush are promoting a position that would weaken our national security and place us in danger;

That, President Bush was right in foregoing the false diplomatic approaches by France and Germany who have publicly stated their actions were based on their desire to limit the power and influence of America;

That, we offer our thanks and gratitude to the Iraqi Coalition Forces who have supported the War on Terrorism: Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Palau, Panama, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Rwanda, Singapore, Slovakia, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Tonga, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Uzbekistan;

That, we recognize the sacrifice and precious gift of freedom our soldiers are providing in their service in Afghanistan and Iraq;

That, President Bush is to be commended in the creation of a special committee to investigate how America can better improve its intelligence gathering capabilities in the War on Terrorism and we commend him for his courage in pursuing the overthrow of the tyrant Saddam Hussein, despite imperfect intelligence;

That, President Bush is to be commended in the post war Iraq efforts to rebuild that country and help create democratic institutions that recognize the righst and freedoms of that nation’s many religious groups;

That, we recognize the benefit of enforcing actions of consequence against Iraq in the change of position of Libya, and the new willingness of North Korea to face forces in the region calling for their end of nuclear pursuits;

That, we affirm President Bush’s goal of promoting freedom, democracy and economic opportunity in the world as a way of bringing stability and peace to the world.

Now We Therefore call on Congress to support and defend our nation’s security interest by better cooperating with and supporting President Bush in his actions to defend this country in waging the War on Terrorism.
